The Tresspassers invade Mariposa

The Mariposa County Arts Council features Cousin Jack’s Mariposa Evenings with FLORA & The PEACH PICKERS on Friday, August 6th and The TRESPASSERS on Saturday, August 7th.

Flora Elder-Rosen fronts her very capable band, also referred to as “Low Country”, with a mighty country-western voice, singing and playing real country music in the plaintive, lonesome style of Hank Williams; derived from the deep roots of this true American art form, not the “pop” country music on the radio playlists today.

The Trespassers have been entertaining audiences at festivals and venues large & small, from the high sierras to the coast, with their original gypsy/bluegrass songs for some time now, and have been a staple of Mariposa Evenings since they formed. A sample of their newest recording, “Western Front,” can be heard – along with more information about the band – at www.thetrespassers.com ; CDs will be available at the show.

All performances for Mariposa Evenings will be held at the Mariposa County Arts Park, located on Hwy. 140, between 4th and 5th Streets, in downtown Mariposa.  There is ample, free parking on 5th Street, just a pleasant stroll along the Creek Walkway to the park, which will also provide handicap access.  Tips are encouraged and appreciated.  Each performance will begin at 7:00 pm.  Mariposa Evenings is made available through generous donations by local businesses, which are featured in our Mariposa Evenings program.    Please bring a lawn chair or blanket for park seating.  For more information call the Mariposa County Arts Council at (209) 966-3155, P.O.
