12th Annual Gold Rush Art Show

The Sierra Artists Gallery in Mariposa is getting ready for its 12th annual Gold Rush Art Show. The gallery has been in existence for 40 years and features the artwork of local artists in the form of a membership co-operative.

The show will take place October 6-18th and is open to all artists from anywhere, age 18 and over, most media accepted. Historically the show has been quite successful with artists competing for cash prizes and ribbons in each category. Judging categories include oils, acrylics, watercolors, mixed media color, black and white (pen & ink, graphite, charcoal) 3-dimensional (jewelry, ceramics,  sculpture, gourds etc) and photography.

Jurying is only done in the case of offensive material or if space becomes an issue. Dates to remember are Oct. 5 for entry deadline and the artists and buyers reception on Oct. 18th from 1-3 pm. Entry information material may be picked up at the Sierra Artists Gallery in Mariposa which is located on the corner of of Hwy. 140 and 6th St. Hours are 10-4 Tues.- Sat. You may call 209-966-2284.
